Kalai, Shatish and Eddy took Hans, Gerard and myself out on Saturday. We drove for 2 hours to do a bit of fruit tasting. We sampled Pineapple (which Gerard and I particularly like) Melon, Paw-Paw and dragon fruit - a tasty and unusually coloured fruit - see below:

After we left the fruit stall we drove to Selangor, the home of the famous Royal Selangor Pewter. We watched the sunset there and fed some monkeys, which were cheeky little blighters. See below for some monkey snaps:

You may notice in the above photo that there are some brown monkeys behind Hans. We were advised not to feed these as they were a bit nasty, unlike the black ones.

The little bugger below has a cool mohawk, but how she had an orange baby, I don't know.
After we left Selangor we drove to Klang, to go to a seafood restaurant. All the driving was on a bumpy single road, and even though the restaurant was only 40 kms away it took more than 2 and a half hours to get there. There were 2 reasons for this - 1) We passed 3 Chinese parades which caused huge traffic jams as the roads were blocked off. They were throwing symbolic money for the public from trucks, Hans and myself almost picked some up as a souvenir, luckily we didn't as we were told later that it was bad luck. 2) Kalai's car broke down - Gerard has a photo of this, I may post it at a later date. While Kalai, Eddy and Gerard went to get a new battery, Shatish, Hans and myself waited by the cars, which attracted many lollygaggers (onlookers). It then started to rain, though not particularly heavily.
When we finally arrived at the restaurant we had a seafood feast, and also tried some "toddy" which is an extract of some part of the coconut tree. It gives you a slight numbness, and after a few glasses I was starting to feel a bit euphoric. The sensation didn't last for too long, maybe half an hour, and I nodded off in the back of Eddy's car on the drive back to KL. Below is a photo of me with the "toddy".
On Sunday night a few of us went up to the KL Tower for a buffet feed. We stuffed ourselves on all sorts of food and desserts, and Hans and I have felt a bit crook since, in fact today (Tuesday) I have taken some Immodium, which has made me feel a bit better.
Personally I am looking forward to getting home now, so i can have some bacon.
